(This is a first here on the Hudson Valley's Funniest People Blog as I profile someone I have never previously met. Ryan Dalton was recommended to me by several other comics. After seeing some videos online, I was sold. His high-energy delivery and very unique fashion alone make him impossible to ignore. But don't take my word for it. Check him out yourself.)

OK. FIRST THING'S FIRST. I GUESS I'M LUCKY HAVING THE LAST NAME "RIFENBURG" BECAUSE PEOPLE RARELY CONFUSE ME WITH OTHERS. BUT IN DOING SOME RESEARCH FOR THIS PROFILE, I NOTICED THAT YOU AREN'T EVEN THE ONLY RYAN DALTON DOING STAND-UP! HAVE YOU RUN INTO ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANY OTHER RYAN DALTONS?
No problems but I did hear a story with him getting mistaken for me. A co worker
of my brothers went to a show at Gotham Comedy club. He was performing and
thought it was me because my brother told her I do comedy. So after the show she
went to him to say he did great job and she knows my brother. She then thought
I was being rude by saying I don't have a brother and have no idea what she's
talking about. A odd exchange for them I'm sure. I definitely want to do a show with
him though.

AS I MEET MORE COMICS LATELY, I'M NOTICING THAT A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF THEM ARE BIG FANS OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING. WHAT DO YOU THINK DRAWS PEOPLE IN OUR PROFESSION TO "SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT"?
It's basically the same thing... instead of punches... it's punch lines but really
the same rules apply. It's all about the crowd and getting the crowd support.
Connecting with the audience. Having somewhat of a gimmick helps because you
stand out and are remembered. I see them as going hand in hand.

It comes naturally (I'm definitely a loony tune) but had to work hard on focusing it

MY 4 YEAR-OLD SON COMPLAINED TO ME RECENTLY THAT HIS PENIS KEEPS FALLING OUT OF THE Y-FRONT OF HIS UNDERWEAR. ANY ADVICE FOR HIM?
Happens to me all the time. What I do... depending on the weather of course.. I'll
either tuck it into my sock or if its cold out put it up and let the waistband
hold it in place. Shiz will not be jumping out of the y-front after that.

THAT'S BETTER THAN I GAVE HIM. I TOLD HIM TO JUST CUT IT OFF SINCE NOTHING GOOD HAS EVER COME OUT OF MINE... HE'S TOO YOUNG TO UNDERSTAND IRONY.

love making videos. Which is another creative outlet of mine) Adds another level
of fun I think. If you win...it feels like you just won the world heavyweight
title. Then it motivates you to come out with new material so you can retain the
title. I've won at jesters twice and won at the Spotlite in Scarsdale. I think I
do good because I try to put on a full show. Very animated, silly as can be and
I always get personal with the crowd. Try to create the 007 with them aka the
Bond.

HYPOTHETICALLY, IF YOU WERE IN A COMEDY COMPETITION THIS FRIDAY FACING ANTHONY TERRIBLE AND JORDAN FRIED, WHO DO YOU THINK WOULD WIN?
I am actually in that competition this Friday... Title is on the line.. I'm pumped
up and ready to go. It's the season finale and nothing would make me happier
then to snag that title back. It's going to be one tough battle that's for sure
but Ill be going in guns blazing!

Intense, unpredictable and CLEARLY ready for anything, it's easy to see why Ryan Dalton is such a fast climber on the local comedy scene. He's also one of the busiest guys in the area so no doubt he'll be on a show near you very soon.
At this time, I want to think the readers of this blog for making it one of the most successful things I've done in comedy in quite a while. We have had about 500 views in just the first week!
